Milton
Milton is a small city in southern King County that straddles King and Pierce counties. With a population of 5,795 according to the 2000 census, Milton covers 2.6 square miles and is considered a bedroom community to Tacoma, Olympia and Seattle.
Milton grew up in the late 1800s as a lumber town and was originally called "Mill Town" and the name, Milton, was derived as a combination of those two names. Milton is located on a hill overlooking the Puyallup Valley. It borders Federal Way (North), Puyallup (East), Fife (West) and Edgewood (East).
