Burien is a city in King County, Washington located on the shores of Puget Sound. Founded in 1876, the city has established residential neighborhoods and a small town atmosphere. Located between Normandy Park and White Center, the city is two miles west of Seattle Tacoma International airport.

Burien was incorporated in 1993, has 13.2 square miles of area and a population of around 32,000. Burien is located 18 miles south east from Bellevue. Seattle is 12 miles to the north.
HighwaysFrom Seattle, motorists take State Route 99 -- the Alaskan Way Viaduct -- which merges onto WA-509 and then take WA-99 west. From Bellevue, motorists take Interstate 405 south and then WA-518.
Schools The Highline School District, with 17,000 students, serves the city with Highline High School.
