Sam (Shirley) Schmit (Retired) is the office manager and bookkeeper at The Farber Law Group. She is a paralegal/legal assistant. Sam began her career as a legal professional in 1971. She has worked in law firms in Alaska and Washington. She is the Immediate Past President and Certification Director for NALS of Washington; NALS is an association of legal professionals. She is active in the SnoKing chapter of the association.
In 1987 the Lewis County Association of Legal Secretaries named her Secretary of the Year, and in 1991 she was voted the Legal Secretary of the Year of the entire state of Washington by the Washington Association of Legal Secretaries; in 1992 she was also the first recipient of the Washington Association of Legal Secretaries Award of Excellence.
Sam has worked for all sizes of law firms including sole practitioners and large firms with hundreds of members. She started with the law firm of Herbert G. Farber in 1992. She is very knowledgeable and capable of answering many questions that the firm's clients may have. She holds a degree in paralegal studies granted by Centralia Community College and has been awarded the distinction of "Professional Legal Secretary" and "Professional Paralegal" by NALS, the association for legal professionals.
