Spinal Cord Injury

Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI) can have devastating consequences. Damage to the spinal cord causes myelopathy which is damage to the white matter (myelinatel) fiber tract which carries sensation and information from the brain to the rest of the body resulting in paraplegia, quadriplegia, loss of bowel and bladder control, broken back, herniated disc, loss of sexual functioning, spasticity and atrophy in the muscles and even death. In the United States, there are approximately 10,500 spinal cord injuries per year. The majority of SCI are to young men between the ages of 16-40 but we represent clients of all ages.

Spinal cord injuries are usually the result of one of the following:

  • Auto accidents

  • Falls

  • Gunshots

  • Diving accidents

  • Sporting accidents

If you or a loved one has sustained a spinal cord injury as the result of the negligence of another in a fall at a construction site, a fall on business premises, or in an auto accident, you are entitled to compensation for the injuries you suffered and for pain and suffering. The Farber Law Group has thirty years of experience of representing victims of catastrophic injuries, often recovering millions of dollars in compensation which can aid a victim in receiving medical care, physical therapy and provide for the victim’s loss of wages.
